The National Institute of Culture and History (NICH) is a statutory body which seeks to encourage Belizeans and persons interested in Belize to better understand Belize’s historic and ethnic roots and instil pride in its citizens about the country’s unique heritage and shared national identity.
The Institute of Creative Arts (ICA) is the catalyst for creative, artistic and professional excellence in Belize. It supports dance, music, theatre, visual arts and creative writing.
The Institute for Social & Cultural Research (ISCR) aims to promote, retrieve, supervise, document and carry out historical, social, cultural and anthropological research for education purpose, social planning and human resource development.
The Institute of Archaeology (IA) protects, preserves and promotes the rich cultural heritage of Belize. Through research, education, planning, policy and marketing, IA effectively manages all archaeological and cultural resources throughout Belize.
The Museum of Belize (MOB) is dedicated to the promotion, documentation, exhibition and understanding of Belize’s culture and history.

Founded in 2001 as Cayo Cable Vision, Central TV & Internet only serviced three areas in Belize: San Ignacio Town, Santa Elena and Esperenza Village. In 2007 after a major upgrade on its network, Central TV & Internet incorporated fiber network in its already existing copper network and replaced old hardware with new ones. This opened the company’s network to provide up to 125 channels including Digital and HD channels and the introduction of High-Speed Internet. By 2009 the company expanded its services to the Northern parts of Belize including Belize City covering most villages along the way.
Today, Central TV & Internet has four branch offices throughout the country and recently launched its own channel network, The National Channel (TNC 10).
The Philip Goldson International Airport (PGIA) is Belize’s only international airport located 10 miles from Belize City in Ladyville, Belize District. It is owned by the Government of Belize and Belize Airports Authority and operated by the Belize Airport Concession Company Limited under a Concession Agreement. In 2017, there were over 5,179 international flights, 25,690 domestic flights, approximately one million domestic and international arriving and departing passengers and 1.2 million kilograms of cargo. Currently, eight international and two domestic airlines operate from the PGIA with scheduled flights to the USA, Canada, Latin America, Mexico, the Caribbean and Europe. These airlines are American Airlines, Avianca, COPA, Delta, Southwest, United, WestJet, Air Canada, Maya Island Air and Tropic Air.
